fake scandalous tweet: Peruzzi reacts to public apology made by influencer

Nigerian musician Peruzzi has vowed to sue a social media influencer who sparked a debate online by posting a fictitious tweet that claimed he was involved in a scandal involving Davido, the head of his record company, and Chioma, Davido’s wife.

The scandal started when @belikebaddy, a Twitter user, posted a faked message purportedly from Peruzzi’s account, implying that Davido had broken up with him because of an alleged relationship with Chioma.

Peruzzi quickly clarified that he was not associated with the fake tweet, saying it was completely made up.

In response to the doctored tweet, Peruzzi issued a warning to @belikebaddy, cautioning him about the potential legal consequences of spreading false information.

Subsequently, @belikebaddy publicly tendered an apology and acknowledged responsibility for the fabricated tweet.

I apologize for posting an edited tweet which involved @peruzzi and @davido. I take full responsibility for all my actions have caused, and I promise it’ll never happen again. My apologies to DMW Management,” he wrote.

However, Peruzzi remained resolute in his decision to pursue legal action.

Expressing his determination to seek legal recourse, Peruzzi called upon his followers to support the cause, urging them to spread awareness and assist in raising funds for the court case.

The singer wrote;

“Y’all retweet this, so he can have money for court. God forgives, I do too. But not this time. F**k that.”
