The family of late veteran actor Taiwo Adeshina, popularly known as “Elegbeje Ado,” has released plans for his burial ceremony.

According to his daughter, Oyinkansola Adesina, the family is determined to give the late actor a befitting farewell after the burial was earlier delayed, partly due to financial constraints.

She disclosed that the wake will take place on Thursday, August 20, 2026, while an Artists’ Night will also be held as part of activities marking his life and legacy.

The actor will be laid to rest on the morning of Friday, August 21.

Oyinkansola, appealed to actors, friends and well-wishers to attend the ceremony and grace the occasion as the family prepares to lay the actor to rest.

Kunle Afod, the Nigerian actor, also encouraged colleagues to attend the burial, describing it as the least they could do for one of the industry’s legends.

“This is the last thing we can do as colleagues to one of our legends,” he said.

Afod also disclosed that an unnamed clergy had donated N200,000 to support the family with the burial arrangements.

Adeshina’s death was announced on June 30.

He was famed for playing herbalist and traditional priest roles in Yoruba films under the stage name Elegbeje Ado.
