Afrobeats musician Adedamola Oyinlola Adefolahan, better known by his stage name Fireboy DML, has revealed that he and a colleague Lekan Osifeso Jr., better known by his stage name Lojay, are collaborating on an Extended Play (EP).
In an interview with The Beat 99.9 FM, Lagos, Fireboy disclosed this. According to the “Friday Feeling” crooner:
“I’m working on a joint EP with Lojay. We have a very great relationship in the studio.”
Fireboy, who recently released his eponymous fourth studio album, ‘Adedamola’, relished working with veteran Nigerian afrobeat musician, singer-songwriter and percussionist, Bisade Ologunde professionally known as Lagbaja, on the song ‘Back N Forth’.
Fireboy said:
“Lagbaja is the most meticulous artiste I ever worked with. I wished he had taken his mask off but he wore it all through our time in the studio. I learnt a lot from him during the session.”
Recall that, Fireboy DML revealed that he and colleague Rema decided to collaborate to show a point to fans who expected a beef from them.
The YBNL signee claimed that they made the choice because they are top stars of the upcoming generation and because they are technologically advanced.
Speaking in an interview with Apple Music’s Ebro, Fireboy revealed said he has five proper collaborations with Rema.
“Myself and Rema are the two leading [Afrobeats] artists of our generation. We came together and realised that instead of giving the fans what they want, which is beef, let’s collaborate. Because we are too advanced for this stuff.
“We didn’t even give them a club banger, we made proper music. We have five more collaborations.”
Fireboy and Rema were subjects of comparisons on social media after hitting stardom in the same year.
