Nigerian music star David Adeleke, widely known as Davido, has received a message of support from his uncle, Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, after missing out at the 2026 Grammy Awards.

The ‘Timeless’ singer took to his X account on Monday to express optimism despite the outcome, sharing photos from the awards ceremony alongside a message in pidgin English, “Oluwa Dey my side,” meaning “God is on my side.”

Governor Adeleke, a longtime supporter of his nephew’s music journey, replied with words of encouragement, posting, “Proud of you always @davido.”

Reacting to the message, Davido responded warmly, saying, “Love u Excellency!!! We move ACCORDINGLY SIR.”

Davido had been nominated in the Best African Music Performance category for his collaboration “With You” — Davido Featuring Omah Lay. However, the award went to Tyla, who secured her second win in the category after previously triumphing with Water when the award was first introduced.

Despite the setback, the DMW boss remained upbeat, leaning on his faith and the encouragement he received from family and supporters.
