Afrobeat artiste Fireboy DML acknowledged the great influence legendary singer Wande Coal had on his musical career and showed his affection and regard for him.
Fireboy called his first meeting with Wande Coal a “dream come true” and said it was a weird experience on a recent episode of the podcast “Is This Seat Taken.” Coal is someone Fireboy holds in high regard.
He disclosed that the presence of Wande Coal evokes a feeling of innocent awe, highlighting the enduring impact of the legendary figure.
Fireboy stated:
“It was a dream at first meeting Wande Coal. I become a child when he is around. He is a legend. So that [meeting him] was a blessing and a surreal moment.”
Fireboy credited Wande Coal as a key inspiration for pursuing music, acknowledging the significant role he played in shaping his artistic journey.
Fireboy DML had also honored Wande Coal’s legacy by dedicating a track titled ‘Wande’s Song’ to him on his fourth studio album, ‘Adedamola’.
