Nigerian singer Stanley Omah Didia popularly known as Omah Lay disclosed that a fellow musician whom he had trusted with a creative idea used it on their album.

The hitmaker claimed in an interview with Zach Sang Show that when he recorded “Holy Ghost,” his 2023 hit track, he invented a new sound.

He stated he wanted to use the sound to record a new album and that he had discussed the creative idea with a “certain artiste” who had contacted him about working together. The artist’s name was withheld.

Five months later, the 27-year-old said the musician released an album with the identical sound, forcing him to redo the entire project.

Omah Lay also described his upcoming body of work as the “greatest album of all time in Afrobeats history”.

“My song ‘Holy Ghost’ is a new sound. I was going to make the whole album with the new sound but along the line, I changed my mind,” he said.

“I shared an idea with a certain artiste and the artiste went ahead and put out an album with my idea and I had to re-record my album. He came to me and I agreed to collaborate. Of course, it’s an artiste that I love.

“And I told him where I was headed with the sound. Five months later, he put out an album with exactly the same sound that I shared with him. I had to go back and remake my album which is actually going to be the greatest album of all time in Afrobeats history.”

Omah Lay rose to fame in 2020 following the release of his two hit singles ‘You’ and ‘Bad Influence’.

He has continued to make a name for himself in the Nigerian music industry, especially with his unique music style.
