Nigerian comedian and show promoter, Freedom Okpetoritse Atsepoyi, popularly known as Mr Jollof, has claimed that singer Burna Boy rejected N1 billion to perform at a concert organised by him and some investors in Warri, Delta State.

He claimed that they made an offer of $1 million (N1.3 billion) to the artist’s team, but they were turned down because the amount was less than what the singer charges.

This was revealed by the comedian in a recent Instagram post.

Mr Jollof wrote in Pidgin English, “Me and some investors reached out to Burna Boy’s team for a concert in Delta State for One Million US Dollars (1.3 billion Naira today’s rate). Guess what? They said it’s too small.

“Burna Boy no dey Nigeria lane again oo because we didn’t utilise him enough before he was exported to global music market. No jokes.”

Recall that few days ago, Joeboy declared that Burna Boy, his Grammy-winning colleague, has become a legend in the music business.

As the first African musician to sell out Toronto, Canada’s Scotiabank Arena, Burna Boy recently made history.

He was the first to sell out the legendary theatre on both Saturday, February 24, and Sunday, February 25.

Joeboy responded by writing, “Burna boy is on some legendary doings,” under his X handle.

In the meantime, Asake’s next tour of Canada is scheduled to sell out the same location.
