Nigerian actor, Zack Orji, has disclosed his process of obtaining Gabon citizenship.
The 64-year-old movie star claimed in a recent interview that he is a citizen of Gabon
because he was born in the Central African nation’s capital, Libreville.
He said that because of his father’s frequent business travels, he was born in Gabon.
Orji also revealed that he was allowed to return to Gabon for the purpose of filming a movie.
“There is a name that is not usually on the screen, my middle name. My middle name is Amefuna and my father gave me that name which means ‘let my heritage not be lost’,” he said.
“By reason of my work, I travel to different countries and by reason of my father’s work, he also traveled to different countries. He worked with John Holt, he had a knowledge of French and in one of his travels I was born in Gabon. As God will have it, I have gone back to Gabon to direct a film.”
Orji recently revealed he has regained his memory after undergoing successful brain surgeries.
Recall that, the actor collapsed on December 29 and was taken to the national hospital in Abuja’s critical care unit.
The actor underwent brain surgery, according to information disclosed by Culture Minister Hannatu Musawa in January.
Orji also had a successful cranial surgery and needed to be evaluated overseas.
The actor learned how to speak French and English well while growing up in Cameroon, Benin, and Togo.
