Rapper, Emeka Akumefule, also known as Blaqbonez, shared his experience during a performance at a company’s end-of-the-year party on Tuesday.
Blaqbonez revealed in a Twitter on his X profile on Wednesday that when playing in front of a “very mature audience,” he noticed how “vulgar” his lyrics were.
The rapper went on to say that the experience was one he will never forget.
His tweet read, “Yesterday, I performed at a company’s end of the year party, very mature audience, that was when I realised how vulgar my lyrics actually were. Looking mummy & daddy in the eye while saying ‘can’t let these f**king b*tches see no emotion’ is something I’d never forget ”
Commenting on his tweet, an X user, DanielRegha, wrote, “Emeka ur lyrics have always been the issue in a majority of your songs; No-one can deny ur talent or unique vocals, but u need to work on your songwriting skills.
“Keep in mind that kids also have access to streaming platforms & often listen to your songs, so your music shouldn’t be inappropriate.”
Another tweep, motivatedpso, commented, “It seems like performing for a mature audience made you realise the impact of your lyrics. It’s a valuable lesson, and now you can work on refining your songs to cater to a wider audience.
“This experience will surely help you grow as an artist and make your performances even more memorable in the future. Keep shining!”
