How I had my only child at 40 with one fallopian tube – Veteran Nollywood actress

Nollywood veteran Binta Ayo Mogaji, known as Mama Insurance, shared her experience of becoming a mother for the first time at the age of 40.

During an episode of the ‘Talk To B’ podcast, she disclosed that she had to undergo surgery to remove one of her fallopian tubes following an ectopic pregnancy.

Despite having only one functioning fallopian tube, the actress described how she successfully gave birth to her child naturally.

She recounted that before turning 40, she had resolved to adopt a child if she didn’t conceive naturally.

However, she was blessed with her own child just a few weeks after reaching this milestone.

Mogaji explained that during that period, she wasn’t interested in marriage, and neither was the father of her son.

The actress said, “Unfortunately enough, the pregnancy was ectopic. They took me to seven different hospitals. The doctor said he wasn’t sure I could survive until the next day. The operation took them, like, seven to nine hours. Some of my colleagues who visited me at the hospital were crying.

“The surgeons had to remove one fallopian tube. But I’m living with one and I had my child through natural birth.

“I stopped looking for a husband; I wanted to make a baby. I said if I don’t have a baby until I’m 40, then I’ll adopt a child.

“[My partner], Jibola came shortly before I was 40 because I had my baby six weeks after I became 40 years old. But he didn’t want to get married as well.”
