Well-known vocalist Yemi Alade has shared how she avoids getting sucked into the controversies in the entertainment business.

The “Johnny” crooner claimed she doesn’t let other people’s viewpoints affect her.

Speaking at the “Rebel Queen” listening party for her new album in Lagos recently, Alade revealed that she chooses to ignore unfavourable comments.

She said,

“I don’t think about it [negative criticisms] too much. I’m just living my life because it’s only one life I’ve.

“Once I see or hear anything that doesn’t resonate with me I look the other way and I keep it moving. Because everybody is entitled to their opinions.”

Recall that, Yemi Alade shared details of her extraordinary 14-year experience in the music business, focusing on the setbacks, victories, and development that have moulded her career.

The multi-award winning musician, who is well-known for her electrifying performances and hits that often top the charts, offered insights into her life’s path, resiliency, and unshakable love of music.

Yemi Alade made her musical debut in 2010 with her track “Fimile,” which featured Eldee The Don. Since then, she has developed an incredible career.

“Officially, I have been in the industry for 14 years, counting from when I released my first song titled, ‘Fimisile’, and featuring Eldee tha Don,” she said.

Reflecting on her journey, she emphasized her deep-rooted love for music, describing it as her innate gift and a calling that has propelled her forward.

“I love music. It is actually the one thing that I am gifted at. I am deeply rooted and connected to music. It has chosen me as its messenger,” Yemi Alade said.

In response to questions about the difficulties the sector presents, she stated that she adheres to the proverb that reads, “Tough times never last but tough people do.”

The music business has never been easy, even before I ever expressed any interest in it. It will also remain difficult. On the other hand, it’s been claimed that “tough people survive tough times.” Yemi Alade continued, “I think the strongest will always prevail.
