The multitalented Nigerian performer Folarin Falana, also referred to as Falz the Badh Guy, has shared details on how he got to know singer Simisola Kosoko, also known as Simi.
The rapper claimed that their meeting occurred in 2013 and that his desire for a musical collaboration was a big factor.
Recall that in 2016, Simi and Falz released a joint EP called “Chemistry,” which ignited dating allegations.
Despite the misunderstanding that they were more than just buddies, Falz made it clear in a recent interview with Hip TV that their relationship was solely professional.
He recounted how he reached out to Simi after hearing her breakthrough song “Jamb Question” and their musical chemistry led to future collaborations.
In Falz’ words:
“I met Simi 2013 or 2014. I reached out to her first time I heard ‘Jamb Question’ to let her know I’ve written a verse for the remix that we’ve not yet discussed.
“And we went on to do it, shot the video and from then onwards, every other track was so natural. She’s family, we really really clicked musically and we just had to really explore that. It was beautiful.”
Falz was seen with his longtime pal Simi Kososko more than a week ago when the interview was conducted. Falz’s official Instagram page posted a video of the two of them sitting beside a table, playingfully switching the latter’s lensless glasses.
Despite the absence of sound in the video, it was clear that both artists were having fun, which sparked several remarks from onlookers.
Many had previously believed that Falz and Simi would become a couple, but Adekunle Gold’s arrival crushed their dreams.
