Nigerian actor Daniel Etim-Effiong has celebrated his wife, Toyosi Etim-Effiong, on her 40th birthday while opening up about a difficult moment in their relationship before marriage.
Speaking in a video shared during the birthday celebration, the actor disclosed that they almost ended their relationship before eventually getting married, but Toyosi refused to give up on them.
“There was a time we nearly broke up before marriage and Toyosi said no and it didn’t happen,” he said.
The AMVCA nominee described his wife as one of the greatest blessings in his life and credited her for being a major part of his journey.
“I am truly grateful for you Toyosi. I wouldn’t have been here without you,” he said.
“I cannot but testify of this blessing that God has gifted me.
“You’re my greatest win, for last night and for the rest of my life.”
Daniel also responded to critics who often accuse the couple of revealing too much about their private lives online, including remarks about him speaking too much publicly.
“People say we talk too much, Oh Daniel, you talk too much, you over share but listen, in the Bible whenever there was a miracle, the people just don’t keep their mouth shut,” he said.
The actor had previously spoken openly about his admiration for Toyosi, once stating that he loves her more than his children.
