Rapper Speed Darlington has described the startling circumstances of his most recent Owerri rearrest.
Speed Darlington clarified that as he was leaving an event location, he was unexpectedly stopped by two police units.
He said he initially believed his host had arranged for a police escort to drive him to his hotel.
The rapper shared a video from his last performance prior to his arrest in order to vent his aggravation at having been held for two months.
He wrote:
“After I measured this booty right there in Owerri, 30 minutes later I came outside to go back to hotel because my obligation to the host has been fulfilled that’s when two squads of police rushed me and ruffled me up. The whole time I thought my host was trying to make me special by giving me escorts to my hotel from the venue since he was unable to provide it from hotel to the venue.. it took like 12 seconds or more before I realised that I’m under arrest just like that I was gone for two months.”
In another story, Speed Darlington cried out after narrowly surviving a gunshot attack just days after being released from prison.
On Instagram, the controversial artist described his terrifying experience of being shot at his car several times by unidentified shooters in what seemed to be a targeted attack.
The severity of the attack was demonstrated by Speed Darlington’s social media video, which displayed the damage to the back of his car, which was covered with bullet holes.
The musician clarified that he first did not notice the gunshots and only became aware of the gravity of the situation after the assailants had left the area.
He claimed that his driver and security personnel informed him that some locals had shot at his vehicle.
“I was told they shot at us. I heard gunshots. I did not know it was first at us. I just came out of a club in VI and the next thing I heard was the sound of a gunshot,” he said.
“They were local men but it was still gunshot. They are so afraid of what I would say. I have not said anything they are already fidgeting. They are already selling killers after me. It is crazy.
“Are these not police officers? They heard it too. There must be truth in what I am saying. With the way he is reacting.”
