Veteran Nollywood actor, Yemi Solade has revealed how he has maintained his 21-year marriage to Hannah, his wife.
The 64-year-old film producer stated that his wife has been the foundation of their relationship in an interview with Nollywood Radio.
He credited Hannah’s help and ability to guide him through life’s ups and downs for a large portion of their success.
Yemi Solade, who has been featured in every Wale Adenuga series, including Papa Ajasco, Super Story, This Life, and Odd World, added that the secret to their successful marriage lies in the friendship they share. In Yemi Solade’s words:
“I give it to my wife. She manages me very well. She has been very tolerant; she perseveres a lot. My wife, apart from every other thing, is just a normal person. She is very selfless, she sacrifices more than anybody I know in this world. She is God-sent.”
“She understands when I have and when I don’t have. She is not ostentatious. Anything I give to her, she prays for me, and that goes a long way.
“Marriage is more like friendship because it is a life contract”.
The actor went on to denounce allegations that he requests sexual favours in return for film roles.
Yemi Solade refuted the claims and made it clear that, in his capacity as an actor, he has no influence over casting. In addition, he complimented his wife for remaining composed in the face of the allegations. He continued, saying:
“Once I show her and say ‘Honey, sorry, something is brewing,’ and then she says ‘just be careful’, that is all. My wife is a very peaceful person; otherwise, we would not be together for 22 years now,”
Yemi and Hannah Marsh Solade, a woman he met while on the set of Wale Adenuga’s “Super Story”, got married after he divorced his first wife, a Shohuarab lady, on a religious basis.
He revealed in an interview that her parents wanted to Islamise him.
