How my break from acting gave me room to build more brands – Emeka Ike

Veteran Nollywood actor Emeka Ike claims that taking a break from the movie industry has been beneficial to him.

When he announced his reappearance, Emeka Ike—best known for his part in the film “Deadly Affair”—disclosed this.

Remember how the actor vanished from the public eye following the breakdown of his marriage to Suzanne Emma? He reappeared in Toyin Abraham’s film Malaika.

But the actor, who just made a comeback to the stage, said in a conversation with NollyNow that his time away from the business allowed him to establish more recognisable brands for himself.

Recounting his landmark progress, he noted;

“My absence was not really bad because it gave me room to build more brands apart from Emeka Ike you know. I now own Nollywood TV on Startimes and I’m still building other brands that are highly in demand.

“We are breaking the ice once again. I want to keep entertaining my fans and give them what is expected from me.”

Meanwhile, Nigerian actress cum filmmaker, Toyin Abraham revealed she featured her senior colleague, Emeka Ike in her recent film, Malaika after nearly 13 years of being off-screen.

Toyin disclosed this in an interview with media personality, Morayo Afolabi-Brown and the ladies of Your View show aired on TVC.

The mother of one said she decided to bring the veteran actor back on screen because he deserves another chance after a marriage controversy that affected his career.

Emeka Ike’s ex-wife Emma accused him of assault and denied him access to his kids.

The 56-year-old who plays Toyin’s husband in the film claimed that his marital drama led him into depression, which drove him to hide from the spotlight because he was ashamed.
