Former rapper Mocheddah, whose real name is Modupe-Oreoluwa Oyeyemi Ola, has reflected on her early years in the Nigerian music industry.

Mocheddah talked about his happy experiences working with some of Nigeria’s top stars, including as Wizkid and Ice Prince, on the TeamwithTaypod show.

She disclosed that she began going to recording studios when she was just 14 years old, frequently accompanying Wizkid to Ojuelegba recording sessions.

As she reflected on her path, she talked about how she observed and picked up tips from seasoned professionals in the field, such as the late, renowned producer OJB Jezreel.

Mocheddah also spoke about her parents’ initial concerns about her musical aspirations. However, her mother eventually became a pillar of support, escorting her to the studio while ensuring she adhered to a strict curfew. In her words:

“I became a studio rat at 14. Wizkid and I would go to studios in Ojuelegba together. We’d watch and learn from veteran musicians and producers. My mom would take me to studios and I had a curfew. Later, I became friends with Wizkid and Ice Prince, and we’d go to studios together. We didn’t record, we just watched and got inspired.”
