Nigerian musician Burna Boy strongly criticized his fellow artist, Eedris Abdulkareem, for remarks made about him in an unreleased podcast.
Reports state that a snippet from The Honest Bunch Podcast’s forthcoming episode teaser, featuring Abdulkareem criticizing Burna Boy for his remarks about not receiving support from Nigerian artists, circulated widely on X on Saturday.
“You hear someone like Burna Boy say no one helped him in Nigeria. That’s stupid talk,” Abdulkareem said in the viral clip.
In response, Burna Boy, in a post that has since been removed from his verified X handle, expressed understanding towards Abdulkareem’s statement but directed his frustration towards those who contributed money for Abdulkareem’s hospital expenses during his kidney transplant in 2022.
The ‘African Giant’ artist, who is presently in the Bahamas for a performance, remarked that he wished Abdulkareem could be present to resolve their differences face-to-face.
He wrote in Pidgin: “Abdul Kareem abi wettin dem dey call your papa, I no blame you. I blame people wey donate money for your hospital bills. And I wish say you be person wey fit dey enter the kind places wey I dey, make we use mistake jam.”
