Public personality Toke Makinwa opened up about how excited she was to embark on the adventure of parenting, giving readers a glimpse inside her heart.

While celebrating Mother’s Day with her goddaughter on Sunday, the 39-year-old divorcee posted this on Instagram.

She exuded confidence in her impending motherhood.

Sharing a photo of herself with her god-daughter, Toke Makinwa wrote:

“I cannot wait to be a Mother, I know it’s in the cards for me and it’ll happen soon. Till then I’ll celebrate my first ever Mother’s Day as your god-mother.”

Recall that in 2015, Toke Makinwa filed for divorce from her ex-husband Maje Ayida after learning that he had impregnated his former lover.

In 2023, the actress revealed that she would not have ended her marriage if she had a child with her ex-husband.

She stressed that she has no judgement for women who choose to remain in toxic marriages for the benefit of their children when she made this revelation on her podcast, “Toke Moments.”

The well-known figure in the media claimed that she would have followed suit in order to save her kids the trauma of a dysfunctional household.

Toke Makinwa said:

“A lot of women stay in unhealthy marriages for the children. For the longest, you hear so many women say things like, ‘the marriage is done but I only stay for my kids. And I’m going to be honest here, if I have had a kid while I was married, I may have been one of those women.”

She talked about the pain she had experienced when her parents passed away when she was only eight years old, and how she had always wondered what her life would have been like if they had survived.

She went on to say that she would prefer the kids not to go through the same suffering.

“Because I also had the trauma of losing both parents at the age of 8. I mean, I was adopted. I have a great life which I’m thankful for but there were times that I wondered what life could have possibly been like if that didn’t happen. So, for the sake of my children, I may have had to compromise just because I wanted them to have mum and dad. I may have been one of these women. So, I’m not even judging anyone right here” She added.
