‘I didn’t make any profit from Gwo Gwo Ngwo challenge’ – Brain Jotter

Popular Nigerian comedian and skitmaker, Chukwuebuka Amuzie, better known by his stage name Brain Jotter, has responded to the widely shared article regarding the possible commercialisation of Mike Ejeagha‘s 1983 hit song “Gwo Gwo Gwo Ngwo.”

According to reports, the song has gained popularity again after Brain Jotter’s popular dance competition.

On Instagram, the video has received over 30,000 comments, while on TikTok, it has received over 23,000 comments. Together, the videos have been viewed 29.1 million times.

Goodwill poured in as netizens grew interested in the 93-year-old Ejeagha and his song. He was promised N2 million by Brain Jotter.

It was a generous amount for some. However, a lot of people charged Brain Jotter of violating copyright.

However, reacting to the accusations on Tuesday in a viral video, he said,

“For those thinking we ripped him off or making money from this whole thing, I understand your concerns and they are very valid.

“I appreciate the fact that you want him to get value for his hard work, which is very valid, and I want you to understand that you are doing something good

“At the end of the day, no dime was made from this song by me, nothing like that. The N2 million I gave him was from my personal hard earned money. I did that just for humanity and not for profit.”

In a different story, Brain Jotter finally paid a visit to Mike Ejeagha, the famous singer of the hit song “Gwo Gwo Gwo Ngwo.”

This transpired a few days after the content producer began looking for him.

According to the report, Brain Jotter has become popular after his latest dancing videos went viral.

The content producer brought Ejeagha’s 41-year-old song back into the spotlight by starting a dance competition with her legendary highlife song, “Gwo Gwo Gwo Ngwo.”

The comedian then used N2 million to begin looking for the seasoned vocalist.

In a Monday night update, Brain Jotter said on his Instagram profile that he was excited to meet Mike Ejeagha.

Sharing photos from his visit, he wrote: “So happy I did this. Story coming soon.”
