Yul Edochie has responded to calls urging him to allow Emmanuel Obasi, the former husband of his wife Judy Austin, to reunite with their children.

The controversy began after Obasi appeared on a podcast where he made claims about Austin’s past relationship with Edochie and alleged infidelity during their marriage.

Austin dismissed the allegations as “contradictory and false”, insisting that her marriage to Obasi ended in 2012 and that she only met Edochie in 2016 on a movie set.

Responding to claims that Obasi had been denied access to the children, Austin said she had never prevented him from seeing them.

She explained that the children previously lived with her parents before relocating to Enugu in 2018. She also described Edochie as a caring father figure who has consistently offered financial and emotional support to the children.

In a recent post, Edochie said he has never stood in the way of Obasi seeing his children, stressing that the matter does not involve him directly.

“Some of my fans have reached out to me, saying please allow him to see his children,” he wrote.

“I have never stopped anybody from seeing his children.”

Edochie advised Obasi to address the issue directly with Judy, noting that he already has her contact details and should settle the matter privately.

“Tell him to call his ex-wife if he wants to see or take his children. Let them discuss it. He has her number,” he added.

The actor also criticised people who take private family matters to social media, accusing some of using his name for attention and financial gain.

“In this era of social media, people prefer chasing clout and chasing social media money with my name, rather than doing the right thing,” he said.

“It has nothing to do with me.”

Edochie has remained a controversial figure since April 2022, when he publicly introduced Austin as his second wife.

The announcement sparked widespread criticism, especially from his first wife, May Edochie, who filed for divorce in August 2023 and demanded N100 million in damages.
