The well-known Nollywood producer and actor Femi Adebayo has given an explanation for his decision to slap his father, Adebayo Salami, also referred to as Oga Bello.

In 2008, while working on the set of actress Funke Akindele’s film “Taiwo Taiwo,” the actor had smacked his father.

In his most recent interview, he did, however, address the event and said that he apologised to his father following the incident.

In a trending video on social media, Femi, who described the slap as accidental, admitted that it wasn’t part of the script.

“I ended up slapping my father in Funke Akindele’s movie, ‘Taiwo Taiwo’ while trying to act like an aggressive thief.

“It wasn’t in the film that I had to slap him, but the character was an aggressive thief, and the man didn’t want to give us money and I just realized that I raised my hand to hit him.

“So, when I begged him after the scene, he was like you would have been in trouble if you had failed to hit me.”

In a different story, Femi Adebayo has disclosed that he was threatened with disownment by his father and senior colleague, the legendary Adebayo Salami, well known as Oga Bello.

Femi Adebayo recently had a heart-to-heart with comedian Gbenga Adeyinka on his talk programme, “Gisting With The GCON.” He began by looking back nostalgically at his early aspirations of becoming a lawyer, a goal he said his father fully supported.

He recalled how his first attempt at acting was only a pastime, something to experiment with for fun, but that was before the allure of Nollywood pulled him into the spotlight he had only ever dabbled in.

Femi Adebayo claimed that the lavish attention and celebrity he and his father, Oga Bello, received inspired him to take a deep dive into the entertainment industry.

The director of Jagun Jagun couldn’t resist waxing poetic about his father, calling him an amazing man whose qualities are so great that he hopes to be his son in a thousand reincarnations.
