British-Nigerian rapper and singer Oluwafisayo Isa better known by her stage name Darkoo, has revealed something unexpected about her professional journey.

Darkoo said in a recent podcast interview that her first love was not music, but rather, she was determined to become a professional football player.

She clarified that many people had seen her skills on the pitch and that it was obvious how much she loved football. But a serious health issue made her reevaluate her choice of profession.

“Music was never the plan. I wanted to be a footballer. A lot of people have not seen me on the pitch because I don’t play football anymore. The last time I played football I fainted because it was a lot of exercise,” she said.

In a different story, singer Victony opens up on how his accident forced his parents to support his music career .

Victony revealed that, prior to the accident, his family viewed music merely as a hobby, given his academic excellence.

His passion for music intensified once he started university.

The accident marked a decisive moment, as his parents witnessed the huge support he received from the music community during his recovery.

This led them to recognize the depth of his commitment to his music career and most importantly, give their approval for him to pursue it. Victony shared these reflections in a recent interview on Sway’s Universe, explaining:

“I used to do music as a hobby and everybody knew that I loved music but they didn’t think I was going to take it seriously. I was good at school so they never bothered about it and they never thought it would distract me from my education but when I got into the university, that was when I started to take it seriously

“They didn’t know I was taking it seriously until after the accident. When the accident happened, a lot of people came to the hospital and they wondered how it was possible. They soon began to realise that I had a community that was growing already and they gave me their blessings from that point.”
