Nigerian rapper Blaqbonez has revealed that he once turned down a $1 million offer to join Mavin Records, the label owned by music executive Don Jazzy.

The 30-year-old artiste made the claim in a post shared on X on Thursday, where he explained why he decided against signing with the record label.

According to him, he is not a fan of being highly active on social media or constantly interacting with fans online.

“Need to get this off my chest before ‘Chanel’ drops,” he wrote. “The reason I didn’t sign to Mavin when they were begging me with a million dollars is ‘cos I don’t really like posting. I prefer one tweet per year than engaging my fans. I’m too big for that. I’m mysterious.”

The revelation comes shortly after the release of his much-anticipated single ‘Chanel’, which features singer Asake.

Blaqbonez gained mainstream recognition with his 2021 debut album ‘Sex Over Love’ and has continued to establish himself with several successful music projects.

The rapper, who is signed to Chocolate City, recently opened up about his mother’s disapproval of his music career and how he secretly continued pursuing rap despite her opposition.
