Rapper Vector Tha Viper has come under fire from controversial street singer Habeeb Okikiola, better known by his stage as Portable.
In a widely shared sample of an unreleased song, Vector mentioned “Zazu,” declaring, “Lion King no be Zazu.”
It appears that Portable took offence at this statement, as he has since dragged him on social media.
Disney’s animated feature film The Lion King from 1994 has a fictional character named Zazu. He is the resentful majordomo of King Mufasa, a stiff-necked red-billed hornbill who took care of Simba.
The “Zazu” crooner asserted that he was greater than Vector, highlighting the fact that Vector is only a rapper and cannot function without a vocalist of his calibre.
In the music industry, Portable stated that he doesn’t think of anyone as a pacesetter and that only God could have made his path possible.
Speaking in a recent Instagram live session, he said,
“God is my own pioneer. So nobody should claim he paved the way for me. Vector the Viper that song you subbed me, don’t you know I am a king? I control the country and streets. Can you control what I control?
“You dey wine? You blow reach me? Are you not a rapper? Isn’t we; singers that would give you the chorus of your song? Instead of you to reach out to me for a feature, you are mimicking me. You blow reach me?”.
