Nollywood actress Ramota Adetu, also referred to as Aunty Ramota, begs for assistance after experiencing homelessness.
After running into a number of personal and professional issues, Aunty Ramota has turned to Nigerians for support.
The actress, who is homeless and does not have a steady source of income, accused her management of exploiting her in a heartbreaking video posted on Instagram by philanthropist Agiye Amira, better known as Isaamira Food Bank.
The actress, who was left stranded after her temporary host got married, clarified that she had to go since the newlywed’s spouse didn’t want her to stay in their house.
The situation worsened when the man assisting her with the construction of a house stopped work for personal reasons.
Aunty Ramota also accused her management of mismanaging her finances and removing her social media profiles, including her TikTok profile, which was a major source of revenue and fan interaction, in an emotional account.
In her statement, Aunty Ramota conveyed her feelings of frustration and betrayal despite her persistent efforts.
In her words:
I’m currently stranded without accommodation. The lady I was staying with got married last month, and she asked me to leave because her husband wasn’t comfortable with me staying there.
“The man who was helping me build my house stopped because of personal issues. To make things worse, my management stole all the money I had. They even deleted my TikTok and every other social media account.
I worked so hard, but they kept cheating me because they thought I wouldn’t know how much we were really making. Now, I don’t even have enough to rent a place.
Someone kindly offered to rent a space for me, but I told them I want to finish building my house, even if it’s just one room, so I can finally have a place to call my own”.
