The Nigerian singer and songwriter Olayinka Michael popularly known as Ruger has announced that he would be getting married this year.
In a Snapchat message, the 25-year-old musician emphasised how the recent spike in marriages has made him rethink his “playboy” lifestyle.
He said that he feels it’s time to settle down as his 30th birthday draws near.
“Everybody is just getting married. Got me questioning myself— how long will I continue this playboy shiii? I am settling down this year, period. I’ll soon be 30, tf,” he wrote.
In a similar story, Ruger expressed his opinion that he is not a good fit for relationships.
His natural tendency is to think about getting serious with someone, but he frequently loses interest, he disclosed in a recent interview.
Ruger made it clear that he puts his health first and has learnt that relationships don’t make him happy.
He said: “I am a loverboy, it’s just now that I understand that relationships don’t work for me. But normally, my first instinct when I see a girl is to think about how I can get serious with her. But later, I just become unserious all of a sudden.”
He responded: “Honestly, no! The most I can give my female fan on stage is a flower. It’s like we’re working together; that’s how it is for me. I don’t take it beyond the stage, we work together.”
Ruger also reflected on his career, expressing gratitude for the blessings he has received.
He acknowledged the challenges he faced in the past and the responsibilities he now has, including providing for his family and team.
“I don’t want to go back to the streets; I have to take care of my family. It wasn’t easy when I started, and it’s still not easy now. I pay people’s salaries now. I pay for a lot of things, and I’m planning a lot of things by myself. God has just been blessing my efforts.”
