Social media influencer Papaya Ex has accused a police officer of assaulting her in the Ajah area of Lagos State.
The alleged incident reportedly happened late at night while she was returning from a shoot.
Speaking during an emotional TikTok live session on Friday, Papaya Ex claimed that the officer struck her in the face with a gun, assaulted her driver, and touched her inappropriately. She showed visible injuries, including a wound on her face, during the live broadcast.
The influencer further alleged that the officer slapped her, hit her buttocks and breasts, and forcefully seized her mobile phone.
Although the alleged assault was not recorded on video, Papaya Ex said this was due to network issues. In clips circulating online, an officer can be heard during a tense exchange as both sides argued.
The claims have generated widespread reactions on social media, with many calling for a thorough investigation.
The authenticity of the allegations and the full circumstances surrounding the incident could not be independently confirmed. The Lagos State Police Command has yet to release an official statement on the matter.
