Popular skit maker Cute Abiola has sparked widespread reactions online after making a public appeal to individuals linked to cult groups, urging them to redirect their influence towards addressing insecurity in Nigeria.

In a video posted on his Instagram page, he called on Nigerians to acknowledge what he described as the strength and influence of cult groups, suggesting that such power could be redirected for positive impact.

According to him, “It is time for all Nigerians to know your power. It is time for all Nigerians to know that cultism is a good thing. It is time for all Nigerians to know that the cultism you are doing has a lot of advantages than the disadvantages,” he said.

He further noted that several communities associated with cult activities are also affected by banditry and insecurity, urging a rethink of how such influence could be channelled to support affected areas.

He added that cult groups could potentially use their reach to help improve security and protect vulnerable communities across the country.

“Please, all Nigerian cultists, come out for us. Let Nigerians be proud of you this time around. You can do this for us, please show your power,” he said.

The comment comes amid growing insecurity in the country, following recent school abductions in Oyo State where over 40 children, teachers and a principal were reportedly kidnapped.

His remarks have continued to generate debate online, with Nigerians divided over the intent and implications of his message within the wider insecurity discourse.
