Jandor mourns Mohbad, says death unfortunate

Dr. Abdul-Azeez Adediran, widely recognized as JANDOR and the gubernatorial nominee of Lagos PDP in the forthcoming 2023 general elections, has characterized the events surrounding the passing of the late musician, Ilerioluwa Aloba, better known as Mohbad, as ‘very unfortunate’.

Remembering that on September 12, fans of music were shocked by the news of the passing of the 27-year-old vocalist.

In a statement released on Wednesday in Lagos, through Mr. Gbenga Ogunleye, the Head of Media and Communications for the JANDOR4GOVERNOR Campaign Organisation, Adediran emphasized the importance of a thorough investigation into the musician’s demise.

He said: “Mohbad’s death announced on Sept. 12 is shrouded in secrecy and foul play with widespread allegation of complicit of some key players in the music industry.”

“The law enforcement agencies need to unravel the truth and ensure no case of injustice is allowed by carrying out thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death.”

“This unfortunate incident and the attendant public outcry on attempts to cover up the matter is a huge draw back to the entertainment industry in the country.”

Adediran expressed sorrow over the premature loss of a promising talent and acknowledged the apprehension among music enthusiasts regarding the perceived risks and questionable practices within the entertainment industry.

“This is a big blow on the image of our music industry” he said.

Adediran extended his heartfelt condolences to the family and supporters of the late Mohbad, wishing them strength in coping with this irreplaceable loss.

Reports indicate that the Commissioner of Police in Lagos State, Mr. Idowu Owohunwa, has assembled a dedicated team to ascertain the circumstances surrounding Mohbad’s passing.

Additionally, the Lagos State Government has reached out to the Department of State Security (DSS) to join forces in uncovering the cause of Mohbad’s demise.
