Kanye West closes schools amidst anti-Semitism criticism

Kanye West, an American musician, is still losing money as a result of criticism for his anti-Semitic remarks on social media.

Most recently, Ye, as he is known legally, was forced to abruptly close Donda Academy for the remainder of the school year.

According to TMZ, the principal of the school, Jason Angell, informed parents via email that the closure was the founder’s “discretion.”

The mail read in part, “First, we would like to express our gratitude for the community of families and scholars that Donda Academy brought together. However, at the discretion of our founder, Donda Academy will close for the remainder of the 2022-2023 school year effective immediately, Thursday. October 27, there is no school tomorrow.

“Our leadership team will be working diligently to assist all families during this transition, ensuring that every scholar has what they need to succeed in their next community in a prompt and gracious manner.”

Angell however said in the mail that the school intends “to begin afresh in September of 2023”

Kanye himself also shared the news via his Instagram page in a since-deleted Instagram post saying, “Here’s the clout you’re looking for. My school is being shut down.”

The Academy is an unorthodox Christian school situated in a heavily guarded area of Carlifonia and is named after West’s late mother, Donda.

Donda’s curriculum includes whole-school worship, core lessons in language arts, arithmetic, and science, according to the school’s website. The school also offers elective classes in things like chorus, international languages, visual arts, and sports.

Following his remarks against Jews, West has lost a number of deals. Adidas, Balenciaga, and GAP have all canceled their contracts with the rapper.

JP Morgan, Kanye’s previous bank, cut all relations with him. According to an announcement made, Ye will no longer be represented by his management, Creative Artist Agency.
