Kendrick Lamar tops 2026 Grammy nominations

Organisers have released the list of nominees in the major categories for the 68th Annual Grammy Awards, scheduled to hold on Sunday in Los Angeles.

Rapper Kendrick Lamar leads the field with nine nominations. Lady Gaga follows with seven, while Bad Bunny, Sabrina Carpenter and Leon Thomas are tied with six nominations each.

Album of the Year nominees include Debi Tirar Mas Fotos by Bad Bunny, Swag by Justin Bieber, Man’s Best Friend by Sabrina Carpenter, Let God Sort Em Out by Clipse, Mayhem by Lady Gaga, GNX by Kendrick Lamar, Mutt by Leon Thomas, and Chromakopia by Tyler, The Creator.

In the Record of the Year category, nominees include DtMF by Bad Bunny, Manchild by Sabrina Carpenter, Anxiety by Doechii, Wildflower by Billie Eilish, Abracadabra by Lady Gaga, luther by Kendrick Lamar featuring SZA, The Subway by Chappell Roan, and APT. by Rosé and Bruno Mars.

The Song of the Year category, which recognises songwriting, features works by Lady Gaga, Doechii, Bad Bunny, Billie Eilish, Kendrick Lamar, Sabrina Carpenter and others.

Nominees for Best New Artist include Olivia Dean, KATSEYE, The Marías, Addison Rae, sombr, Leon Thomas, Alex Warren and Lola Young.

Other major categories include Best Pop Solo Performance, Best Pop Duo/Group Performance, Best Pop Vocal Album, Best Rap Album, Best Rap Performance, and Best Music Video, with leading artistes such as Justin Bieber, Sabrina Carpenter, Lady Gaga, Clipse, Tyler, The Creator and Doechii earning multiple nods.

In the Best African Music Performance category, nominees include Burna Boy, Davido featuring Omah Lay, Eddy Kenzo and Mehran Matin, Ayra Starr featuring Wizkid, and Tyla.

The Best Global Music Album category features projects by Burna Boy, Youssou N’Dour, Shakti, Anoushka Shankar, Siddhant Bhatia, and Caetano Veloso with Maria Bethânia.

Overall, Kendrick Lamar tops the list of artistes with the highest number of nominations, cementing his strong presence at this year’s awards.
