Nigerian media mogul and blogger Linda Ikeji has replied to criticism about her son’s surname.
Following anger on Tuesday for giving her six-year-old son, Jayce, her surname, Linda uploaded a photo of Jayce and his cousin, Ryan, enjoying vacation.
However, fans took issue with the fact that she referred to Jayce with her last name in the caption.
In an Instagram story, Linda emphasised that Jayce has always had the Ikeji surname since birth.
She added that she never had the intention nor the time to change it, emphasizing that the decision to preserve or alter his surname will lay with Jayce when he is older.
Linda continued by offering some suggestions to her “Junior colleagues.”
“Just to be clear.
I’ve never ever had to change my son’s surname. He’s been an Ikeji right from when he was born! Where do I have the time or patience to be changing names? Changing it and keeping his surname (Ikeji) will be up to him when he ages.Food for my Junior colleagues”.
