‘Marriage thing’ scares me more every day — Ice Prince

Rapper Ice Prince has revealed that the state of modern relationships has made him hesitant to rush into marriage.

During a podcast conversation with media personality Rufai Oseni, the rapper explained that he frequently witnesses marriages breaking down within a year of the wedding ceremony.

He also expressed concerns about the financial burden associated with weddings, pointing out that many of his friends often approach him for financial assistance to cover marriage expenses.

According to Ice Prince, he is not interested in putting himself under such pressure at the moment, although he may consider settling down later in life, possibly when he turns 40.

He referenced rapper M.I Abaga, who got married at that age, as an example.

He said: “These days I get scared of this marriage thing more and more everyday because I see people get married and in less than a year they want out. I see the drama people go through to get married, the stress about borrowing money. My friends are constantly reaching out to me to borrow money to get married and I don’t want to be that person.

“I’m hoping that maybe when I am 40. Some of my mentors got married that age – somebody like M.I Abaga got married at that age. Maybe when I’m that age I’ll probably be thinking about that. For now I don’t intend to”.

The rapper further disclosed that he has additional ambitions for his 40s, including returning to school and managing a farm.

He noted that he does not envision himself continuing to release albums at that stage of his life, as he plans to focus on a new chapter.

“Also I have other goals when I’m 40. I intend to go to school. I really want to go to school so bad and I’d like to run a farm when I’m that age. I don’t intend to be dropping albums when I’m 40”, he added.
