Mayorkun vows not to perform in Calabar again after robbery incident

Nigerian singer, Adewale Mayowa Emmanuel, popularly known as Mayorkun, has made a solemn declaration never to grace the stage in Calabar, the captivating capital of Cross River State.

This announcement occurred on his X (formerly Twitter) page on a peaceful Tuesday morning, as Mayorkun extended his best wishes to fellow artists slated to perform in the city.

In his own words, he expressed, “Calabar, You’ll probably never ever see me again, good luck to the other artists coming for your festivals tho.”

Mayorkun, who dazzled the audience with a captivating performance in Calabar, has allegedly been a target of a robbery, according to concerned fans discussing in the comment section of his post. Surprisingly, some fans disclosed that the singer’s multi-million naira necklace was forcefully taken from him during his stay in Calabar.

In response to this disheartening incident, singer Iyanya has stepped forward to address the alleged robbery of his colleague, Mayorkun, in Calabar. He took to social media to implore the perpetrator to return the stolen item, offering to personally compensate the individual for their actions. Quoting Mayorkun’s tweet, he emphasized, “My Calabar people, this is very bad for the peaceful people I know us to be. The government has brought my colleagues to entertain you, all you owe them is protection and great hospitality. If you know anyone who stole from my brother, please return it and I will personally compensate you. Drop it at The Grand Hotel. I will personally compensate you please.”
