Reality TV personality Mercy Eke has dismissed the persistent rumours surrounding her personal life, maintaining that many of the stories circulated about her are untrue.

Speaking during an interview on the Toke Moments podcast, the Big Brother Naija Season 4 winner said life after the reality show has been far more challenging than many people believe.

“Coming out of the house now, I’ve been pushing myself; it’s not been easy, especially when people have perceptions about you,” she said.

When asked about the biggest misconception people have about her, Mercy responded directly.

“The one that everybody knows is, oh, someone is funding my lifestyle, that I’m dating a married man. Apart from being pregnant every week,” she said, drawing laughter from herself and the host.

Toke jokingly asked, “Are you pregnant now?” prompting Mercy to laugh and gesture to her stomach.

The reality star then set the record straight about her relationship status.

“I have been dating someone for four years. I’m still, mm-hmm, in that relationship,” she disclosed.

Mercy also revealed that marriage has come up in conversations with her partner, and she is open to it.

However, she said her partner believes she is not yet ready.

“He keeps saying I’m not ready, I’m not ready. I don’t know what I’m doing that looks like I’m not ready,” she said.

On starting a family, Mercy said it is now a priority for her. “Right now, I want a baby. I have prayed, I have fasted,” she added.
