Veteran Nigerian singer, Mike Okri has refuted claims that he is in coma.
“I was hospitalized for few days. I had typhoid malaria. I am now home, recuperating,” Okri said in a phone conversation with ace journalist, Azuka Jebose.
“I come dey hear conflicting reports about my enemy ooo. Na minor malaria & typhoid been affect my enemy nor be me. But as quoted by Isaiah 53 that ‘By His stripes, I am healed’, Brother….”Happy Father’s Day…” he assured Nigerians.
Yesterday night, anxiety gripped the Nigerian music industry particularly fans of the ‘Time na money’ crooner following multiple social media reports that the revered musician is in coma.
Mike Okri shot to stardom in 1988 when his debut LP, ‘Concert Fever’ made waves in the Nigerian music industry. The melodious singer changed the rhythm of the Nigerian pop music and was touted as the next big thing.
