The House of Representatives on Tuesday observed a moment of silence for the late singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, better known as Mohbad, who passed away two weeks ago at age 27.
At the commencement of an executive session upon resuming plenary in Abuja, the lower chamber offered this tribute.
In response to an urgent motion presented by Mr. Babajimi Benson, the representative of Ikorodu Federal Constituency, the House also decided to oversee the inquiry into his passing and the distribution of royalties in his name.
Benson advocated for a reassessment of the pertinent legislation governing the entertainment sector, including copyright laws. He voiced apprehensions regarding the contracts and agreements that artists are often obligated to endorse.
