The extensive toxicology tests that were conducted in an attempt to solve the mystery surrounding the sudden death of well-known Nigerian musician Ilerioluwa Aloba, better known by his stage name Mohbad, have been finished, and the Lagos State police have received the results.
The tests, which were carefully carried out in the US, are expected to provide important new information on the circumstances surrounding the singer’s untimely death.
The Lagos State attorney, Oluwaseun Akinde, informed the coroner’s court in Ikorodu last November that although the exterior autopsy was finished, the vital toxicology analysis—which looked into internal factors—was still pending.
However, a state government official familiar with the situation informed PUNCH that the test results were delivered to the state DNA and Forensic Centre last week.
The test findings were given to the police earlier this week, the official, who remained nameless because he was not allowed to discuss the matter, said.
“The toxicology test is ready and given to the police. We projected 10 weeks from the outset but it came in before then. It was received by the DNA and Forensic Centre last week and has been sent to the police,” the source said
