MultiChoice unveils new channel, renames three others on DStv, GOtv

Pay-TV operator MultiChoice Group has rebranded its SuperSport variety channels on both DStv and GOtv platforms.

In a statement released on Thursday, Tope Oshunkeye, Executive Head of Marketing at MultiChoice West Africa, announced that the changes took effect on Wednesday, October 9, 2024.

 Changes on DStv and GOtv

As part of this rebranding, the SuperSport Select Channel has been renamed to SuperSport Africa. Additionally, a new channel, SuperSport Action, has been introduced, offering a wider range of sports content, including UFC matches and more Champions League games.

 GOtv Package Updates

The rebranding has brought several changes to GOtv packages:
– On the GOtv Jinja and GOtv Jolli packages, SuperSport Africa will replace Select 2 (Channel 64).
– On the GOtv Max package, SuperSport Africa and SuperSport Africa 2 will replace Select 1 and Select 2 (Channels 63 and 64).
– On the GOtv Supa and SupaPlus bouquets, SuperSport Action will replace Select 3 (Channel 69).

Oshunkeye explained that this revamp is part of MultiChoice’s efforts to enhance their sports offerings and provide viewers with more diverse and engaging sports content. He highlighted that the new channels will feature top sports events from around the globe, including local boxing, UFC matches, in-depth analysis, and other content curated specifically for African audiences.

He reaffirmed MultiChoice’s commitment to delivering premium services, stating, “We are dedicated to offering the best sporting action and constantly seeking ways to delight our customers with more options, exciting live content, and exceptional value.”
