Nigerian Rapper Odumodublvck, born Tochukwu Gbubemi Ojogwu, has revealed the unique circumstances surrounding his birth.

The acclaimed “Industry Machine” claimed to be a “covenant child,” having been born to his mother at the age of 39.

Odumodublvck described himself as one of the most confident artists in music history.

He ascribed his unwavering self-assurance to his church background, which he considers to be the core of his musical career.

He said: “I am the only child of my mom. She gave birth to me when she was 39. I’m a covenant child. That’s what people don’t understand. I don’t just come out and say things. They are not fallacies. I grew up in the church. That’s the foundation of my music.

“I am one of the most confident artistes in the history of music… I am just a vessel.”

In a different story, Odumodublvck spoke candidly about how he gained recognition in the industry.

Odumodublvck recently discussed the role that Afrobeats megastars Davido and Wizkid played in his ascent in an interview with the Afrobeats Podcast.

The rapper disclosed that Wizkid was the first well-known person to share his music in the early stages of his ascent to fame. The rapper stated:

“In Nigeria, Wizkid was the first major artiste to post my music. He posted picanto…Then after I dropped ‘Declan Rice’, he posted the song and there’s also a video of him vibing to the song.”

Wizkid’s post would drive mass attention to Odumodublvck’s music and the rapper quickly rose from relative obscurity to stardom as ‘Declan Rice’ named after the England and Arsenal football star became an instant hit.

On the role Davido played in the early days of his career, Odumodublvck said the five-time Grammy nominee chose to help him when he didn’t have to. In his words:

“David (Davido) is someone who helped me when he didn’t need to. So there’s no way I will say anything bad about him even if I have the chance to.”
