Nollywood actress and TV host Nancy Isime has opened up about her challenging early years working as a model and usher.

In an emotional social media post, Nancy Isime shared that at just 17, she often worked late into the night without transport fare, leaving her to either trek long distances or sleep on chairs and rugs at event venues.

“Yes, my family was always worried, especially my dad, but I’m a dangerous gyal and it’s best to let me figure out life my way, else the rebellion is quite rebellious.” the actress stated.

During this challenging time, Nancy revealed she approached singer, Yemi Alade, whom she had met through a mutual social circle, and requested a temporary shelter.

The TV host stated that Yemi welcomed her into her home without hesitation, allowing her to stay for weeks without complaint.

“I stayed for weeks and this woman NEVER EVER complained. In fact, the peace was too much” she recounted.

Isime expressed heartfelt gratitude for the singer’s kindness, describing her as peaceful, thoughtful, and full of positive energy.

She said, “Many years later, I still have the softest spot for Yemi and will eternally be grateful to her for being one of the bookmarks of kindness and generosity in my life.”

After gaining admission into the university, Isime revealed she was able to get her own apartment in the same building as Yemi, and their friendship continued to grow.

She affectionately added, “My Padi @yemialade, I dey for you for life!”
