Afrobeats artist Ayodeji Balogun, also known as Wizkid, has reignited his long-standing rivalry with fellow musician David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, leading to a new round of social media exchanges.
This latest conflict comes just months after the two clashed on X (formerly Twitter), with Wizkid previously ridiculing Davido and Mavin Records boss Don Jazzy in May.
At that time, he dismissed Don Jazzy as merely an “influencer” and shared a video of Davido on his knees, pleading for new music.
The drama resurfaced on Tuesday when Davido teased a snippet of his first single for 2024, coinciding with Wizkid’s plans to release the first track from his highly anticipated “Morayo” album on the same day.
In a twist, Davido’s associate Kayode Yajaur, known as Black Tycoone, took a jab at Wizkid, seemingly mocking the delay in his album release. He tweeted, “Tell your Daddy to drop an album already.”
Unfazed, the Grammy-winning singer responded by throwing shade at Davido’s camp, writing on X, “P***y boys dropping mid again,” and added, “Una don tire! Make una go rest small!”
While Wizkid did not directly mention Davido, fans quickly interpreted the post as a clear shot at the ‘Fem’ crooner.
In defence of Davido, a fan hit back at Wizkid, accusing him of chasing clout by roping Davido into his online drama. “So if you no beef @davido, your song won’t sell?” the user tweeted.
Wizkid wasted no time in firing back, stating, “I don’t beef wack niggas! We all know he’s wack! No talent!”
Refusing to let the matter die, Wizkid continued his tirade, dismissing Davido’s entire discography as “trash” and bragging about his own musical prowess. “80 trash! We got 80 albums for any song y’all drop! P***y boys!” he added.
Despite Wizkid’s ongoing jabs, Davido has chosen to remain silent.
There is speculation that the recent tension may have been ignited by Davido’s performance at Tony Elumelu’s UBA anniversary event in the United States. While Davido entertained guests and posed for photos with the billionaire businessman, Wizkid, a UBA brand ambassador, was notably absent from the occasion.
The exchange has sparked a flurry of reactions on social media, with both fans and celebrities chiming in on the feud. While some have criticized Wizkid for reigniting the rivalry, others are eagerly awaiting a possible response from Davido.

Wizkid if Davido really has zero talent like u say, why bother competing with him in almost everything? Ur talent should’ve made u standout, but still, u see a “talentless” person as ur biggest rival. That says a lot.
