Nicki Minaj’s husband, Kenneth Petty is set to undergo 120 days of home detention following his social media threat towards rapper offset.
According to documents obtained by ET, Petty has received a court mandate for 120 days of home detention. This order was officially filed on Wednesday in the Central District of California, subsequent to Petty was “recorded on video making threatening remarks to a specific individual while in the company of someone with a criminal record.”
The judge mandated a four-month house arrest for Petty to closely monitor his activities. As a part of this supervision, he may be required to wear an electronic GPS ankle bracelet, though this decision is pending.
The videos in question were shared on social media on September 16, as reported by The Hollywood Reporter.
The videos, which have been widely shared on the internet, were laden with profanity.
In the footage, Petty, along with two other men, can be seen on a New York City sidewalk, making repeated references to Offset. At a certain point, Petty remarks, “You go ahead and plan that vacation, you might as well be planning your own funeral.”
Petty has a history of convictions, including attempted rape and attempted murder, resulting in two separate prison terms. In 2022, he received a three-year probationary sentence for failing to register as a sex offender in California.
