Nigerian celebrities celebrate Don Jazzy at 39

Innocent 2Baba Idibia, Tiwa Savage, Simi, and other celebrities have taken to social media to celebrate Nigerian record producer, singer, and Mavin Boss, Michael Collins Ajereh, better known as Don Jazzy who clocked 39 today.

The music producer’s father who shared the same birthday with him took to social media to say words of prayers to the ‘men in her life.’

In a message posted via her Instagram account, Indianpicolo, the music producer’s mother wrote, “Happy birthday to these legends @mavingrandpa and @donjazzy. This period every year gives me joy that can’t be expressed by just talking. My prayer always is for God to give you two long life with good health in Jesus name amen. I love you.”

While Innocent 2Baba Idibia paid homage to Don Jazzy saying: “As you dey bless, na so your own go continue. You too much,” Davido said “Happy birthday Don Baba; blessings to us all.”

Tiwa Savage: “The Supreme Boss, happy birthday @donjazzy. You will forever be the best boss in the world. Is your account still the same, I wan check something. Love you for life.”

Tacha: “Omo it’s really @donjazzy’s birthday. Happy birthday. Knowing you is refreshing.

In 2019, Don Jazzy unveiled a newly built multimillion naira mansion tagged “Mavin Creative Studios” as Mavin Corporate Headquarters to celebrate his 37th birthday.

The unveiling of the unique and magnificent office which is situated at Lekki, Lagos, was his birthday gift to himself but this year, the Mavin boss will be having dinner with 20 fans.

Jazzy co-founded the now defunct record label Mo’ Hits Records in 2004. Following its closure, he sets up Mavin Records on 8 May, 2012.

Mavin has produced artistes like Tiwa Savage, Reekado Banks, Dija, Korede Bello, Rema, DNA and a host of others.

Don Jazzy found an interest in music early in life and at age 12, he began to play the bass guitar and piano. He also gained knowledge of traditional and percussion instruments.

He enrolled in business management studied at the Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma, Edo state.

In 2000, his uncle invited him to play the drums for a local church in London and that was his first visit to London. Don Jazzy gained employment at McDonald’s as a security guard.

He continued his interest in music, associating with artistes like; Solek, JJC Skillz, Kas, Jesse Jagz, The 419 Squad and D’Banj.
