Nigerian fashion designer Kuforiji Oluwaseun sets Guinness World Record for sewing marathon

The Guinness world Records has officially certified Ogun State-born fashion designer Kuforiji Oluwaseun for achieving the global record for the longest sewing marathon.

On Friday, he received an official certificate and plaque in recognition of his feat. Kuforiji etched his mark in history by sewing nonstop for 106 hours, 55 minutes, and 20 seconds from January 22 to January 26, 2024, in Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State.

He displayed unrivalled talent, patience, and workmanship with nothing more than a needle and thread.

Within the first six hours, he had finished a full Agbada suit, demonstrating his speed and accuracy.

By the end of the marathon, he had sewed 18 garments, demonstrating his endurance and commitment to his trade.

Kuforiji Oluwaseun is a graduate of Tai Solarin University of Education in Ijebu-Ode and the founder of the fashion label Koil Creations.
