Nkechi Blessing publicly begs for forgiveness over 2021 suspension

Nollywood actress Nkechi Blessing has pleaded for forgiveness at the Canadian Celebrities Entertainment Awards over suspension in 2021.

This poignant moment stems from a tragic story that started in 2021 when Nkechi Blessing and her coworker Kehinde Adams, also known as Lege Miami, were suspended by the Theatre Arts and Motion Pictures Practitioners Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN) for their heated online rivalry.

Fuelled by personal insults and long-standing grudges, the online altercation was more than just an ego fight; it was a dramatic encounter that exposed the tensions that had been building within the business.

Realising the seriousness of the situation, Lege Miami apologised profusely for his part in the conflict. But Nkechi Blessing followed a different route. Instead of attempting to make amends, she persisted in insulting Lege, namely for his backing of Baba Ijesha during a contentious time when there were grave allegations of sexual assault against a juvenile.

She was left to stand alone in the spotlight and her distance from her colleagues only grew as a result of her stubbornness to back down.

Now, in a striking twist, Nkechi has made her way to Canada, where she found herself on her knees, tears streaming down her face as she pleaded for forgiveness from TAMPAN.

This emotional moment was witnessed by TAMPAN president Mr Latin, several of her colleagues, including the esteemed Odunlade Adekola, who, moved by her vulnerability, helped lift her up and embraced her heartfelt apology.
