Actress Laide Bakare has stated that no man is permitted to visit her home unless they are married, emphasising the importance of commitment and responsibility in relationships.
Speaking in an interview, Bakare said a man is expected to take the lead and provide, adding that any suitor must show seriousness by paying her bride price.
She further noted that her approach to relationships is practical, explaining that she does not believe in the traditional idea of love but instead values liking, appreciation, and respect in a partner.
She wrote, “No man can come to my house until we are married. I don’t love o, let’s leave love aside. I like, I appreciate and respect, but I don’t like love. We will do anything in his house, but if he wants to come to my house, he should pay the bride price. He is the man; he should be responsible.
“He should come and carry me to his house. How can you be coming to my house and not putting a ring on it? It is better for me to hang my clothes in your house than for you to hang your clothes in my house.”
