Actress Ruth Eze has bravely questioned the sincerity of the honours paid to the late Junior Pope and spoken out against the hypocrisy in Nollywood.

Her challenge calls attention to the hypocrisy of those who chose to honour Junior Pope after his death but refused to do so during his live.

Her statement comes after numerous coworkers, who did not recognise the actor’s talent or achievements during his lifetime, lamented the actor on social media on what would have been his 44th birthday, May 7.

Ruth Eze’s message read:

Did u ever celebrate him when he was alive? If NO, give me one reason u’re celebrating him now he’s dead”.

“Hypocrites, pls answer me”.

Many believe she is talking to Baba Rex, who submitted a tribute but oddly locked his comment section, and this question has started a crucial conversation.

Actress Rita Edochie shows shock over Junior Pope‘s passing and declines to celebrate her birthday.

The sister-in-law of Pete Edochie announced on her Instagram page that she would not be celebrating her birthday today, April 16, and that instead, she would like to dedicate it to Junior Pope.

The late actor would always call the actress, send her notes, post her images online, and more. The thespian also mentioned how the actor never forgot her birthday. Rita said that until the end of the day and she doesn’t hear back from him, she won’t accept that he is dead.

Rita Edochie who is also Yul Edochie’s aunty added that no one’s death in Nollywood has made her this hurt, lamenting how Junior Pope is too young to die.

Making a promise to him, she stated that the memories they shared would remain evergreen in her heart.
