Kira Taiwo, daughter of late veteran Nollywood actor Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, has announced a 40th-day prayer gathering to honour her father.
Kira shared the announcement on Instagram on Wednesday, inviting family members, friends and well-wishers to the prayer session scheduled for Friday, October 2, 2026.
The gathering is set to begin at 12 noon at the Asade Agunloye Pavilion Ground in Ilaro-Yewa, Ogun State, where Ogogo was buried on August 24 after his death at the age of 66.
The invitation poster featured a photograph of the late actor and carried the inscription: “You are invited to the 40 days prayer for Alh. Al-Hassan Babatunde Taiwo ‘Ogogo.’”
Family members, friends, colleagues and associates of the late actor are expected to attend the gathering as they continue to celebrate his life, career and legacy.
Ogogo died on August 23, 2026, after a career spanning more than four decades in the Yoruba film industry.
The prayer gathering is being held 40 days after his death, in keeping with Islamic tradition.
